Me and Jay Sean The Hot Maintenance Guy ate lunch together today.

And Glee is back on.

Life kind of rocks right now.

A Conversation Between Amalia Vargas & Jay Sean The Hot Maintenance Guy (who's real name is Alex, but she's been referring to him as "the maintenance guy who looks like Jay Sean" for too long and now it's stuck)

AV: *sees Jay Sean The Hot Maintance Guy getting on the elevator and smiles at him while scrolling through her phone for no reason whatsoever*

JSTHMG: *nods and smiles at AV*

AV: *squeals internally* Going up?

(AV dies at this point over the fact that she said "going up?" to the hot guy who'd gotten on the elevator on the first floor)

JSTHMG: Yeah.

(AV and JSTHMG ride up in kinda awkward silence)

JSTHMG: *looks down at AV's hand* Cool bracelet.

AV: *looks at her butterfly bracelet, wonders briefly if JSTHMG is gay since he's complimenting her jewelry, but decides he's not because she doesn't want him to be* Thanks. I like it.

(the elevator doors open up)

JSTHMG: *flashes an adorable smile at AV* See you around.

AV: *dies* Yeah, see ya!

So... yeah, I had a really good day at work.

Things about my job that suck:

1. Feeling invisible when all the money-people walk past and don't notice me

2. The evil coffeemaker in the breakroom

3. The evil snack machine in the breakroom that won't take dimes and is always out of Doritos

4. Our dizzying elevator that isn't that much different from the Tower Of Terror

5. The fact that I say "How may I direct your call?" so many times that it'll probably be engraved on my tombstone

Things about my job that don't suck:

1. The maintenance guy who looks like Jay Sean

2. The fact that they haven't blocked Twitter or Solitaire on my computer yet.

3.

Blargh, I can't think of a third.

Jan 1st, three hours in the past

Ok, riddle me this, Vargas...

You live in one of the coolest cities in the world (top five at least, still have to give props to San Diego and Los Angeles and Oslo and there's probably another cool one out there I'm not thinking of). Not just that, but the city you live in is super-famous for New Year's Eve.

So why did you spend your NYE in California, aka, three hours back in time?

Because you're an idiot, that's why.

So, ok, it wasn't that bad. It was fun. I got spoiled for Christmas by Mami and Papi (gift cards!) and the stuff from Isabel didn't suck too bad. And the party at Brendan's was fun.

Brendan. We live on opposite sides of the country, we haven't so much as kissed since freshman year of college, and I'm still obsessing over him. Why?

I think that comes back to the idiot thing.

So anyways. It was a fun party. He's got this girlfriend now who was a little wary of me, but I thought she was kind of cool. His two roommates are the total LA guys, one's a wannabe actor, one's a wannabe producer. Then there's my Brendan. The wannabe who-the-hell-knows. He says that he loves working over at studio catering. He told me about weird food tastes of some of the stars. We exchanged Christmas presents, he got me two dvds (The Hangover and 500 Days Of Summer, the boy knows me like I don't know what) and a really cute knit hat. I got him a couple bootleg cds I found in Chinatown, and a cool t-shirt. He also gave me the promise that he'll come out to NYC sometime soon. Once it gets warmer. Wuss. He's supposed to be a Jersey boy, he's gone all California on me.

So, all in all, I guess it was fun.

But next year, I'm doing NYE in NYC.

I bet everyone else there had fun. Seth probably went to a cool party. Ok, scratch that. Seth probably stayed at the apartment and listened to Jason and Avery sucking face while he watched Ryan Seacrest on tv. But he should have gone to a party.

Next year, I'll take him to a party.

A NY-rockin'-E party. In NYC.

100 Questions

As for me? Thanks for asking, Nbook.
Haven't felt better.
It's a little scary. )

Sep. 24th, 2009

Does that make sense, Nbook?
Because I see it so clearly. No person is alone. Everyone's part of something bigger. Something that came before.
Something that has gathered strength over the years, resulting in the person you are. )
